Dive With Me in Utila
PADI MSDT & Specialty Instructor | Utila, Honduras
I started diving in early 2019 and fell completely in love — not just with the underwater world, but with what it does to you as a person. In January 2022, I made the leap and relocated to Utila, Honduras to pursue diving full time. With 700+ dives logged across Utila, the Bahamas, Dominican Republic, the Red Sea, Socorro, Ushuaia, the Orkney Islands, Mexico, Portugal, Indonesia, the Philippines, Bonaire, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and the Maldives — I’ve seen a lot of ocean. And Utila is still one of my favorite places to dive.
Why Dive in Utila?
Utila sits on the Mesoamerican Reef — the second largest coral reef system in the world. The diving here is genuinely world-class, and it doesn’t require a lot of experience or bravado to enjoy it. Walls, a few great wrecks, incredible visibility, minimal current, and fish everywhere. It’s the kind of diving that makes you want to stay forever.
- 🐠 Walls & reef — colorful, healthy, spectacular
- 🚢 Wrecks — accessible and fun
- 👁️ Visibility — often 30m+
- 🌊 Current — minimal, great for beginners and relaxed divers
- 🦈 Whale sharks — seasonal sightings, bucket list material
- 🏝️ Utila — no big chain hotels, real island life, English spoken, prices that make sense
Learn Scuba With Lara
My classes are limited to one or two students at a time. That’s intentional. You get my full attention, a pace that works for you, and an experience that’s actually fun — not a factory certification. Whether you want to take it slow and soak in island life, or knock out your certification efficiently, I’ll make it work.
